Sourcewater Director of Geoscience, Casee Lemons, Presents on Evaluating the Best SWD Sites at IPEConnect, August 12, 2021 at University of Tulsa

By Greg Tsichlis - August 9, 2021

This week the International Petroleum Environmental Conference (IPEC) will feature a presentation titled “How to Find and Evaluate the Best SWD Sites for Development, Acquisition and Servicing Using New Subsurface Data Models”

Casee Lemons, Director of Geoscience, Sourcewater, will be presenting live, in a virtual feed, on August 12, 2021.

A brief description of Casee’s presentation:

With much tighter capital budgets but still an ever-growing need for produced water disposal capacity, optimal disposal well design, placement and servicing to maximize ROI and minimize OpEx has become more urgent than ever. During the session we will show:

  • Why optimal SWD sites and designs are difficult to determine, and how to use new subsurface models to find the highest performing zones with the lowest cost and risk
  • Why traditional methods for assessing capacity, performance and value of existing SWDs often produce inaccurate results, and how to make better mission-critical investment decisions
  • How to identify SWDs that are strongest candidates for low-cost, high-return services such as cleanout or recompletion
  • How to see the earliest indicators of where new production and new disposal capacity is going in order to secure the most valuable SWD sites and avoid costly mistakes in over-supplied areas
